JAMMU, Sept 18: A review meeting of Food and Drug Administration was held today at, Srinagar under the chairmanship of Vinod Sharma, Commissioner, FDA, J&K.
In the review meeting, representation of the Food Business Operators regarding expiry of their License/Registration and their inability to get the same renewed in the absence of internet facility in the state. It was discussed and decided that FBO’s will deposit the fee into the Account of the Department and will complete the other formalities on the revival of internet. No late fee shall be charged for the period.
The status of pending court cases was also reviewed and directions were issued that appeal before the next appellate courts in all the cases will be decided within 7 days of date of pronouncement of decision by the court.
It was also informed that during one month Special Drive in both the divisions of the state 51 manufacturing Units were inspected, out of which 23 were issued improvement notices, licenses of 03 units was suspended, and one unit was sealed.
It was also informed that 47 samples were lifted, reports of 09 were received, among which 06 were found in contravention to the provisions of the FSS Act, 2006. During the said special drive articles worth Rs 13, 21400/- were seized and five challans were filed against the erring FBOs.
