Clerical Staff Association serves ultimatum for removal of pay anomaly

JAMMU, Sept 14: Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association, has threatened to resume the agitational path if the Government does not concede its demand on removal of pay anomalies before commencement of the forthcoming Assembly session.
If the Government does not implement the agreement, reached out with the employees on 15-9-2011, in letter and spirit before commencement of the Assembly session from October 3, 2015, the Association will have no option other than to go for agitational path,” warned Babu Hussain Malik, State president of the Association, while addressing a press conference, here today.
He informed that the Association has submitted a reminder in shape of memorandum to the State Government through Divisional Commissioner Jammu on September 12 for redressal of anomalies in terms of Pay Scales of Clerical Cadre employees. The copy of the reminder and charter of demands was also submitted to the Chief Minister on the same day,” he added.
Throwing light on the demand, Babu Malik said that in the 5th Pay Commission, the Government had upgraded Pay scales of other cadre employees from Rs 3050-4910 to Rs 4000-6000 notionally from 1-1-1996 and monetarily from 19-2-2003. Similarly, he added,  in the year 2006, various SROs and Government orders were issued in which the pay scales of Teachers, Patwaris, Flock Inspectors, Stock Assistants, Accounts Assistants, Vetenary  Assistants and others were increased but the Clerical cadre such as Junior Assistant, Senior Assistant, Head Assistant and Junior Scale Stenographer were ignored in this respect.
The Association leader alleged step motherly treatment of the Government towards the clerical cadre employees and reiterated the warning of a vigorous agitation over the issue.
Others, present  in the press conference, included Umar Jan, Munish Sharma, Vipan Kumar, vikas Sharma, Yashpal Sharma, Jaswant Singh, Seva Ram, Ashok Singh, Ali Mohd and Mohd Iqbal.
