JAMMU, Sept 14: Gadigarh police arrested three persons for smuggling 12 bovines to Valley.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Gadigarh police post laid a naka at Dharap and signaled a truck bearing registration number JK18A-0065 to stop.
On seeing police team, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued 12 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested three persons on the spot.
The accused have been identified as Shabir Ahmed, son of Abdul Ahad, Firdous Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad, both residents of Chowgham, district Kulgam and Majid Ahmed Bhat, son of Gul Mohammad of Kharkund, district Kulgam.
They were smuggling the bovines to Valley, but their nefarious designs were thwarted by the active cops of Gadigarh police.
A case under FIR Number 194/15 under Section 188 RPC and 2/3 PCA Act has been registered against the accused at police station Gadigarh and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Gadigarh PSI Showkat Amin made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Sachin Gupta, SP Headquarters Randheer Singh and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajeev Pandey.
