JAMMU, Mar 22: The charred body of a man was found this evening at his residence in Kanachak area of city outskirts.
“The deceased was identified as Vijay Kumar (50) son of Dharam Chand, resident of Raipura (Kanachak). The police came to know about the body at about 7 PM when wife of the deceased, who had gone to City, returned back home,” a police official said.
He said prima facie it appears that the man committed suicide by setting himself on fire but the police had initiated inquest proceedings in the case. “The body has been sent for postmortem at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu,” he further added.
