Buda Amarnath yatra to begin from August 18

JAMMU, May 2: Harish Chauhan National convener of Buda Amarnath yatra today said that the annual yatra to the holy shrine of Buda Amarnath will start from August 18.
Talking to reporters here today, he said the first batch of pilgrims will leave base camp at Bhagwati Nagar on August 18 and the yatra will run for complete 12 days as the last batch with holy Mace (Chhari Mubarak) will leave from here on August 28 and it will perform darshan next day on Sawan Purnima falling of August 29.
Mr Chauhan, who during his three days tour of Jammu region visited the holy shrine to inspect the track. He also interacted with religious people associated with yatra from Akhnoor to Mandi in Poonch and sought their views how to make more improvements in yatra arrangements.
He said the yatra is run by Bajrang Dal and it was started in the year 2005. For last 10 years BD is successfully running this yartra and its activists deserve all praise and congratulation for the same.
He said the yatra has instilled confidence among the Hindus living in Poonch district as migration had started from there due to militancy and people were feeling scared. However the yatra has instilled confidence among them now and migration of minorities has stopped.
Naveen Sudan, Janam Jai the other two BD leaders were also present in the press conference.
