JAMMU, May 2: All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) in its meeting today expressed concern over the role of National Conference (NC) and Congress towards the displaced Pandits and the confusing signals given by the two parties on settlement of the community in a composite township in Valley.
In a statement Desh Rattan chairman of the organization said that the Congress and NC has never been sincere towards the plight of displaced people and they have been always giving the confusing and contradictory statements on the rehabilitation of the displaced people.
He said during their rule since 1996 the two parties failed to take concrete steps in rehabilitation of Pandits in their homeland despite knowing fully the reasons behind their mass exodus. Instead of solving the problems of the displaced people the leaders of two parties tried to misled the public and blamed the then Governor Jagmohan for the mass exodus this way giving a clean chit to those who waged a war against the nation and were responsible for killing of thousands of people in the State.
He said when the Government has put a formula for the return of Pandits in motion these two parties have also started expressing their apprehensions and opposing the move one way or the other. This way their leaders were playing in the hands of separatists.
Rattan demanded that Pandits all pending issues be settled. He also reiterated the homeland demand for the community within Valley.
Raj Nath Dhar, Anil Sharma and KV were among others who addressed the meeting.
