SAMBA, Oct 6: A programme was organized in district Samba by BJP Jammu and Kashmir Mahila Morcha under the leadership of Morcha president, Sanjita Dogra in presence of BJP district president, Amar Singh.
Morcha Prabhari district Samba, Prerna Nanda, Seh Prabhari Arti Jasrotia, district president, Mahila Morcha, Samba, Sonia Thakur and other office bearers of district Samba Mahila Morcha including district team ,Mandal presidents and general secretaries of the district were also present.
Sanjita Dogra discussed various Central Government programmes like Sukanya Samridhi Yojna in the programme.
She said that every Morcha member must adopt one girl child from poor family and physically challenged girls and open an account in her name. She added that Sukanya Samridhi Account can be opened any time after the birth of a girl child till she turns 10, where a minimum of Rs 250 will be deposited in her account and to keep the account active, a minimum contribution of Rs 250 is mandatory in each financial year and in multiples of Rs 100 thereafter.
She said maximum investment allowed per annum under the Sukanya Samridhi Yojna is establishing 1.5 lakhs up to the end of the 15th year from the opening of the account. She added that the account can be opened in any post office or authorized branches of commercial banks and further said that this deposited money will help the girl child during their education and marriage and asked to Mahila Shakti to be a depositor on behalf of a minor girl child of whom she is the guardian. Matr Shakti showed positive response and agreed to take this Central based scheme between the people to aware who have girl child.
District president, Amar Singh said that there is a vast array of State and the Central Government schemes which have the specific objective of promoting women’s health, education and empowerment.
Prerna Nanda said that a great participation by the women folk in the political activities will prove to be catalyst in the development of the nation. District president, Mahila Morcha Sonia Thakur also spoke on the occasion.
