JAMMU, Oct 6: Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta today laid foundation stone of a toilet block in Karbala complex, Peer Mitha, Jammu.
While speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that it was an old demand of Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu which was today fulfilled by Jammu Municipal Corporation. He was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma and others.
Mayor said representatives of Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu meet him several times and emphasized the need of a toilet complex in Karbala complex as during the time of Moharram proceeding devotees used to face difficulties since the community toilet failed to cater to the rush of devotees.
Purnima Sharma said it is their duty to address the demands of people and they are trying to give their best in providing all basic amenities to the people. “No Doubt it was an old demand but today we fulfilled our promise and by laying foundation stone of the toilet complex,” she added.
She informed that the toilet complex will be state of the art project with different section for ladies, gents and a section for devotees who used to wait there to offer Namaaz.
Sohail Kazmi said JMC had been on toes and delivering their best to the people of Jammu. Anjuman-e-Imamia vice president Syed Afaq Hussain Kazmi was also present on the occasion.
