JTC hunger strike enters 5th day

JAMMU, Oct 6: The hunger strike which has been started by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K from Jagti township Nagrota near here entered the 5th day.
The JTC and SKF president and convener, PCC Migrant Cell J&K Shadi Lal Pandita said that the hunger strike which started on the 2nd of October 2020 will continue until the demands are resolved.
Pandita said that the monthly cash assistance of relief holders should be enhanced from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month as the livelihood of the relief holders is not met in this era of inflation. Pandita said that the Government should provide one Job to each migrant family in a house where there is no employee in the family for which a package of 20,000 more Jobs should be announced.
He said out of these 20, 000 jobs 5,000 Class VI posts should be given to the unemployed youth of those families who could not send their children for higher education after matriculation due to poverty and exile.
