JAMMU, Mar 15: A grand function was organised to celebrate birth anniversary of Maharaja Dharam Chand, Kuldevta of Chib Biradari at Satrayan in RS Pura, here wherein thousands of devotees paid their obeisance, today.
Maharaja Dharam Chand also known as Baba Shadi Shaheed, was an epitome of Hindu and Muslim unity. His shrine is located at Jandi Chauntra (Bhimber and now in POK), where thousands of people from all walks of life visit that place to seek his blessings.
Former Minister, R S Chib was the chief guest on this occasion, while Sarpanch Veena Devi and Panchs of Panchayat Sattowali as well as a large number of men and women participated in the grand gala function.
The former Minister while addressing the gathering asked his Biradari members to devote their energy, in educating their children and also fight the menace of drugs unitedly. He also advised them not to spend too much money on marriage and other social functions. “It is very important to have good relations with the members of other communities, so that the spirit of nationalism is strengthened among all of us,” he asserted.
27 students, both boys and girls were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1000, a memento and certificate who excelled in their studies by the Chenab Education Trust.
He appreciated the organizers and especially the members of Panchayat for organizing the function.
