Students protest for online examinations of UG semesters

JAMMU, Mar 15: Continuing their protest for online mode of examinations, students of various degree colleges affiliated to Jammu University today took out a strong protest rally on JU campus.
Led by JJSF, the protesting students also blocked Jammu University road alleging that their demand was not heard by the university administration.
Students of GDC Kathua, GDC Hiranagar, GDC Samba, GDC RS Pura and other colleges took part in the protest for their demand of online examinations. These students assembled on JU campus where they took out massive protest rally amid raising of slogans in support of their demand.
While addressing the gathering, Anshu Sharma said that they approached the Controller of examination a number of times but he refused to entertain the students’ memorandum of demands, because of which they have intensified their protest. He explained that the students have acquired education through online mode which has certain complications and even their syllabus was not completed because of which they demanded online examinations.
Harjot Singh, Secretary JJSF, said that University was conducting online examinations of 1st semester as their syllabus was not completed while on the other hand, other semester students were being forced to appear in offline mode exams.
Ajay Chambyal and Atul Sudan (State Vice President JJSF) appealed Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and save students future. They said that either university should take classes for two months on offline mode to clear all doubts and complete syllabus or should give 50 percent concession in syllabus for offline examinations.
Others present in the protest, included Rahul, Abhishek, Partik, Abinash Abhi, Raghu Sharma, Atul, Kartik Raina, Sourab, Vivek, Neeru Chambyal, Ridhima Katal, Ria Sambyal, Shiva Slathia, Priya Sharma, Shubham Thappa, Sheetal, Riya, Bandana, Monika, Raghav, Mohit, Sourav, Manjeet, Sapna, Aditya Bandral, Vandana Devi, Sourav Chambyal, Shivani Devi, Ashu Devi, Sheetal Devi, Rajan, Naveen Kumar, Akhil Jasrotia, Sunny Dogra, Vishal, Sourav Billawaria, Gurgaish, Abhishek Sarmal, Randhir Singh, Bandna Devi, Nisha, Pooja Devi, Baljeet, Barnwal, Atul, Damini, Sarabjeet and Astha.
