GMC Jammu organizes workshop on NTEP

JAMMU, Mar 15: Department of Pediatrics, Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, in collaboration with IAP City Branch Jammu, organized a workshop on “National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP)”.
Dr D B Sharma, Ex HoD of Pediatrics, GMC Jammu was the chief guest on this occasion. The faculty for this workshop were Dr Jatinder Singh, Professor Pediatrics, PIMS, Jallandhar; Dr Gurdeep Singh, Sr Pediatrician and EB Member IAP from Himachal & Punjab States; Dr Sanjeev Kumar Digra, Professor Pediatrics, GMC, Jammu and Dr Mohd Razaq, Professor Pediatrics, GMC, Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr G S Saini, Professor & Head, Department of Pediatrics & President, IAP City Branch Jammu, explained the role and importance of this training workshop in eliminating the Tuberculosis. He also appreciated the organizing secretary of this workshop Dr Mohd Razaq, Professor Pediatrics, GMC, Jammu & General Secretary, IAP City Branch Jammu, for coordinating and organizing such an informative training workshop and academic activity.
The workshop was attended by more than 60 delegates, who included Dr Ravinder K Gupta, Professor and HoD Pediatrics, ASCOMS, Jammu & EB Member IAP J&K; Dr Vijay Kundal, Professor & HoD Medicine, GMC, Jammu; Dr Subash Bhardwaj, Professor & HoD Pathology, GMC Jammu; Dr Rajeshwar Sharma, Registrar, NMC, J&K, Jammu and other Faculty Members of Department of Pediatrics: Dr Ashu Jamwal, Dr Sunil Dutt Sharma, Dr Anuj Bhatti, Dr Ravi Parihar, Dr Koushal Khajuria, Dr Pooja Bharti, Pediatricians from Health Department, CRPF & private sector. Dr Kavita Sharma, Dr S S Sambyal & Dr Ramneek Singh from District Tuberculosis Center Jammu also attended the workshop.
Dr Pooja Bharti lecturer Pediatrics, GMC Jammu delivered the vote of thanks. The delegates said that the knowledge and skills learned in this training programme would help them in effectively implementing the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) in their respective hospitals and job areas in the interest of patient care.
