JAMMU, Sept 26: Senior BJP leader and JMC Councillor from Ward Number 41 Sanjay Kumar Baru held a meeting and listened the problems being faced by residents of Hazuri Bagh and its adjoining areas.
He was accompanied by BJP Booth President Naresh Gupta and BJP local Leader Jatin Sethi.
After listening the problems patiently, Sanjay Kumar Baru said illegitimate procession of Maharaja’s famous “Gole Mahal” at Hazuribagh, Bohri hurts the sentiments of Dogras especially the locals.
“Gole Mahal–a dogra heritage was built by Dogra rulers at fruit orchard in Hazuri Bagh, Talab Tillo decades ago. The King and Royal members used to visit his beautiful scenic palace frequently to ease their stress. The Gole Mahal was built on nearly 7 kanals of land which has suffered extensive damage due to being abandoned and improper care”, he added.
“Government has declared 150 years old Gole Mahal as Heritage Site on the recommendation of Jammu and Kashmir Heritage authority, but some miscreants have illegally encroached upon it and claim its ownership. It is shocking that how anyone can claim ownership over a Heritage Property”, he stated.
Local Councillor on behalf of people has appealed to the LG administration to intervene personally and direct the concerned authorities to take over this Dogra Heritage and start its beautification work.
He also assured the Royal Apartments Welfare Committee Members for earlier installation of new 250KV transformer in the Society.
