REASI, Sept 26: Continuing war against drug abuse, team of Police Station Reasi today arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered Heroin from their possession.
The accused, identified as Tabrez Hussain, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Ward number 7 Reasi and Sajjad Ahmed, son of Abdul Aziz of ward number 8 Reasi, were intercepted during Police patrolling in Talwara area.
A case FIR number 191/2021, under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Reasi. Investigations are being done to unearth forward and backward linkages in the drug peddling.
According to Police, both the accused are notorious drug peddlers of the area and remained involved in supply of drugs to youth of Reasi.
Tabrez was earlier arrested in a drug peddling case FIR number 172, under section 8/20/21/22 NDPS Act at Police Station Reasi on 01/09/2021, just four weeks back and was bailed out.
Sajjad was involved in the business of selling banned drugs and had been earlier arrested by Reasi Police on 13/07/2021 in case FIR number 144/2021 Under Section 8/15/21/22 /27/27-A/29 and 4/25 Arms Act. History sheet of both the accused will be opened to keep their ill activities under surveillance, said Police.
