30 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, June 6: Foiling attempts of bovine smuggling in Chenani area, Police rescued 30 animals and arrested three smugglers.
According to Police, 25 bovine animals were being smuggled in two trucks bearing registration number JK02CA-8607 and JK02AD2747, which were intercepted by a Police party, led by SHO Chenani, Inspector Om Parkash under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Ahmad Shaafi, at Zero Point, Motor Shed Chenani.
Police rescued the animals and arrested drivers of both the trucks as well as their accomplice, who were identified as Gulzar Ahmed, son of Rashid Ahmed of Dansal, Shabir Ahmed son of Zakir Hussain of Hiranagar Kathua and Puran Chand son of Chet Ram of Mansar, Batote. Both the trucks were also seized.
In this connection, two FIRs bearing numbers 95 & 96 of 2022, under section 188/336 IPC, 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Chenani.
Another attempt of bovine smuggling was foiled at Sudhmahadev and five bovines were rescued. These animals were being transported in a vehicle JK2BU-1848, which was intercepted by a Police naka party of PP Sudhmahadev, headed by IC PP Sudhmahadev PSI Gaurav Slathia.
Police rescued the animals while driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot. In this connection, a case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Chenani.
