2 killed in road mishaps; man found dead in pond

UDHAMPUR, Dec 9: Two persons died in separate road accidents in Udhampur district during the last 24 hours while a middle aged man was found in village pond at Nalli Kharuni.
According to the reports, driver of a Tata Mobile vehicle JK19-5160, which was on its way from Saplai Morh to Krimchi, died when it rolled down in deep gorge near Krimchi, late last night. Police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured driver to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared him as brought dead. The deceased was identified as Jag Mohan (32), son of Sham Lal of Tringal in Banihal, Ramban District.
Meanwhile in another road accident, a man died after he fell from moving bus, which was on its way from Lalli to Kalsot. The bus was carrying baratis when the mishap took place near village Kalsot. The victim was taken to PHC Mongri where doctors declared him as brought dead. The deceased was identified as Karnal Chand (47), son of Gayan Chand of Kalsot (Mongri).
A motorcyclist sustained injuries when his bike skidded off the road at village Pattli, near Tanal in Udhampur. Locals shifted the injured to District Hospital Udhampur. He was identified as Mohd Gulzar (35) son of Mohd Tariq of Tanal.
Meanwhile, an elderly man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in village pond at Nalli, Kharuni,
The deceased was identified as Shiv Charan Sharma alias Guddu (61), son of Amarnath of Kharuni, Battal Ballian Udhampur. Police shifted the dead body to District Hospital Udhampur for postmortem and registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
