No bridge connectivity to Dachhal village

MENDHAR, Dec 9: Residents of Dachhal and adjoining villages in Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch district urged the concerned administration for construction of a foot bridge in their village for the inhabitants of the Dachhal and Nari Niketan students.
Mohd Rashid, Iqbal Hussain and other inhabitants of the area have been demanding this bridge since long. They are furious over the attitude of the concerned authorities over their genuine demand.
People said that Dachhal is actually Mendhar Nallah, which for the last several decades, creating havoc for the residents due the absence of foot bridge. The authorities have failed to construct foot bridge. They said that if any person falls sick the villagers have to carry him on their shoulder to cross the river, risking their lives.
The residents said that sometimes while crossing the stream, it become difficult particularly during rainy season when the water level is high. “The absence of foot bridge has made our life miserable,” they added.
“There is no direct road to connect the village to the Tehsil headquarters Mendhar. This foot bridge will not only benefit the village Dacchal but the adjoining villages also. It will also lessen the distance from village to the main road,” they said.
Residents of ares urged upon the LG, J&K UT, GC Murmu to address this genuine issue as soon as possible.
