2-day workshop organised by EPFO concludes

JAMM, Dec 5: The two -day workshop organized by Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) which started yesterday for the benefit of the employees of Jammu and nearby districts of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir concluded today.
In the workshop more than 500 employees were trained about the basics of Employees Provident Fund Act, Employees Provident Fund Scheme 1952, Employees Pension Scheme 1995 and Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme 1976. The training was also given on the technical know how of filling of electronic Challan Cum Returns (ECR) in EPFO website www.epfindia.gov.in and making payment through online.
Under the EPF scheme, employees have to deduct 12 percent from the salary of employees and deposit with EPFO with matching contribution from employer side. 0.5 percent of wages are to be paid towards insurance scheme and 0.5 percent of wages towards administrative charges. Contributions are to be paid within 15 days of the following month. EPFO offers its subscribers online services. Employers were taught about seeding Aadhaar and bank account against Universal Account Number (UAN) of employees. Employers were also familiarized with various facilities in the EPFO website www.epfindia.gov.in including submission of claims online.
Regional PF Commissioner, J&K and Ladakh K Prasanth, Sudershan Additional PF Commissioner, J&K EPF, Sanjay Kesri, RPFC-I (EPFO Head Office) and Harsh Vardhan Koushik, DD (IS) led the workshop. Ramesh K, RPFC-II gave the vote of thanks.
Rakesh Gupta , president of Jammu Chamber of Industry and Commerce complimented the EPFO officials for arranging the workshop and assured continues assistance and cooperation from employers community in implementing the provisions of EPF and MP Act in the whole Jammu. The Code number (user id) and password to log in to EPFO is being forwarded to the registered mobile number of the establishment.
