JAMMU, Dec 21 : Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today asked the Oil Marketing Companies operating in the State to establish 6 petrol pumps in Kargil district.
He was chairing a meeting with representatives of Oil Marketing Companies including Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and officers of the department here today.
The Minister was briefed about the location for establishment of petrol pumps and gas agencies in the district by the representatives of Oil Companies.
In the meeting, Oil Marketing Companies were asked to initiate the process for establishing 6 petrol pumps in the area. It was decided that IOCL will establish pump at Drass and Sankoo area whereas HPCL will establish at Shakerchetan and Khangral. BPCL has been asked to establish petrol pumps in Zanaskar and Taisuru areas.
The Deputy Commissioner, Kargil was directed to identify the site and location of the petrol pumps. It was also decided to establish 7 New Gas Extension Centres and directions were passed to BPCL to establish these centres at Karsha and Cha-Lungnak whereas IOCL will establish at Sankoo and Shergole and HPCL at Drass, Batalik and Khangral.
It was also decided in the meeting that inauguration of Bottling Plant of HPCL will be done in the month of May 2017. The agencies concerned were also directed to dump sufficient stock of oil in Kargil district particularly in winter season.
Among others, Executive Councilor Food and Civil Supplies, LAHDC Kargil, Executive Councilor, Education, LAHDC Kargil, Secretary, FCS&CA, Director, FCS&CA Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Senior Regional Manager, IOCL J&K, Senior General Manager, HPCL J&K and Assistant Director FCS&CA, Kargil attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, Deputy General Manager, Indian Oil Corporation Limited for Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, J&K and Punjab Dhananjay Shrivastav called on Zulfkar Ali and apprised him about the activities of IOCL in the State.
DGM briefed the Minister about overall functioning of the company in terms of its operations in the State. The Minister advised DGM to expedite works under Corporate Social Responsibility sector in the State so that people can get more benefits.
