JAMMU, July 25: BJP State general secretary, Yudhvir Sethi leading various deputations, called on Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Varma to apprise him of their issues. While leading the deputations of Sports and Bus Stand Association he pressed for the early redressal of their problems.
Yudhvir informed the Divisional Commissioner of the problems faced by the elite sports persons particularly from the field of Football and Fencing. The Divisional Commissioner was informed that the sportspersons of the State are facing lot of hardships due to the non-availability for various resources. The deputationists said that even the proper place for carrying out the practice of the game is not available. They pleaded that the State of J&K has a lot of potential for proving their mettle in sports but at least they must be provided with the basic infrastructure. Players demanded a dedicated earmarked space for their practice sessions.
Yudhvir also presented the case of Bus Stand Association of Jammu and represented their tale of horrors in front of Divisional Commissioner. He said that the entire livelihood of Rehri-Fari, Shopkeepers, Tour & Travel Agencies, transporters and several other allied people is dependent on the functioning of Bus Stand. He said that the continuous hustle bustle by the tourists from across the nation gives a sense of liveliness to the place as well as means of business. He informed the Divisional Commissioner that they have been given the notice to vacate the place which will adversely affect the living cycle of the people. The Association requested the Divisional Commissioner to look into the matter.
Sanjeev Varma assured that he will surely look into the matter and come up with a practical solution so that the issues of both the deputations will be addressed promptly.
