JAMMU, Aug 25: A youth jumped from bridge into river Tawi today afternoon.
However, acting swiftly, a search operation was launched.
As per police sources, a youth identified as Akshay Kumar (24), son of Kripal Chand of Janipur Colony jumped into river Tawi at around 1:30 pm today.
After getting information, a team from Nowabad Police Station led by SHO Inspector Deepak Jasrotia rushed to the spot and started search operation.
UTDRF team was also called in, but the body of the youth was not fished out till last reports were compiled.
Nowabad Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
