JAMMU, Aug 25: Former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today kick-started public outreach programme in Gandhi Nagar Assembly Segment to take stock of the problems being faced by the people.
The public outreach programme was started by BJP leader on the directions of the National President of the party, JP Nadda and J&K president, Ravinder Raina at booth level in Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment. In his first reach out programme he visited Nanak Nagar on the demand of the people and conducted a meeting with the locals, wherein, many issues were discussed.
The locals while speaking on the occasion raised many issues pertaining to drinking water supply, irregular power supply, sanitation and so on.
While addressing the locals Randhawa said that all that he is working in the constituency since last four decades to serve the people. He urged the people to reach him out for any problem anytime as his doors are open for the people of Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment. With regard to their drinking water problem Randhawa immediately directed PHE authorities to provide water connections to the left-out households which are around 20 in numbers. He said that BJP is committed to provide all basic facilities to the people irrespective of caste, colour and creed.
He said though the Jammu and Kashmir being a Union Territory is under the control of Lieutenant Governor but it is the moral responsibility of local leaders to put genuine issues before the administration for redressal.
He assured the locals that all their demands raised during the meeting would be fulfilled and he will personally pursue the matters with concerned authorities. The locals present on the occasion appreciated the efforts of the former MLC in reaching out to people and extended full support to the BJP in coming future.
