Young poets impress at All India Urdu Mushaira

JAMMU, Jan 28:   The All India Mushaira, organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and  Languages, as part of the Republic Day celebrations, here today, was marked by poetry recitation of prominent and widely acclaimed Urdu poets of the State as well as from across the country.
The Mushaira held in at Jammu Club Auditorium, presided over by senior poet Farooq Nazaki, and Arsh Sehbai and Asgar Verrolavi in the presidium, was conducted by Zahid Mukhtar, in his inimitable style.
The highlight of the today’s poetic symposium was poetry of young poets from the State who impressed the audience with their ingenious expressions as well as use of Urdu language. The young and talented Khalid Krrar won praise for with his poem “Hamian tumahri zaroorat hai, aur iss ke sivaa, Tumhar saath ishq vishq nahin huaa/ Bahut kuchh ho chukka hai, aur kuschh nahin huaa, Hammara sara asasa teh-e-zamin hua hai.”
Liaqat Zafari also impressed with ” Main bazaar main utra houn ronaq hai jahan….Aur jeh log kharedaar smajhte hain mujhe/…. Ab to kuchh aur bhi gehri hain meri bunyaadein ….ab tk ghar wale bhi deewaar samajhte hain mujhe.”
Satish Vimal, the well known Hindi poet, showed his equal facility with Urdu in following verses: “Intakaman yeh qadam hum ko uthaana chahiye, Saamne patther dilon ke musqrana  chahiye” Iss liye dil mein basaaya maiNe uss harjayii ko, ek awaara sifat ko bhi thikaana chahiye.” Balraj Bakshi of Udhampur came out with: “Badahaiy jaa rahein faasle mil jul kar, hum se jaaya nahin jaata, un se aaya nahin jaata.”  Parvez Malik of Dahral, left his mark with: “Bhatakti huii aarzo ko rokna ho ga, mujhe maloom hai iss dar se khalii loutna ho ga.”
Others who also recited their poems included Jammu’s veteran poet Vidya Rattan Aasi, Saifi, Saroonji, Asghar Velorvi, Mujeeb Sehzar, Parveen Kumar Ashaq, Shahid Aziz, Natkhat Azem Abadi, Zero Bandhavi, Faroq Raza, Rajasthan, Misdaaq Azmi, Azam garh, Krishan Kumar Toor, Mamta Singh Sandal, Javed Anwar, Farooq Nazaki, Aiyaz Rassol Nazaki, Rafeeq Raaz, Sahfaq Sopori, Dr Nazir Ayaz, Rukhsana Jabeen, Zahid Mukhtar, Parvez Manoos, Maqbool Sahil,  Iqbal Faheem, Liaqat Zafari, Arsh Sehbai,  Sham Talib, Sheikh Sajjad, Betab Jaipuri, Sabar Mirza, Sayed Imtiaz Naseem Hashami, Irfan Arif, Ushaaq Kishtawari, Tanyeer Bhadarwahi, Manshoor Banihali, Kush  Dev Maini, Hassam-ud-Din Betab, Sagar Sehraie, Zulfaqar Naqvi, Jalal-ud-Faani and Shah Nadeem.
