UDHAMPUR, Feb 13: A young housewife committed suicide by hanging herself at the house of her in-laws at Battal Ballian in Udhampur.
The deceased was identified as Anjali Devi (35) wife of Mastan Singh. She was found hanging from ceiling fan.
All the family members had gone for attending a marriage function when Anjali Devi hanged herself.
Cause behind the extreme could not be ascertained while Police has shifted the body to hospital for postmortem and registered a case for further investigation.
Meanwhile, in a road mishap, a pedestrian was hit by a rashly driven scooter on the Jammu Katra road, here this evening.
The injured, identified as Rohit Gupta (19) son of Naresh Kumar of Rohini, Sector 14, New Delhi, has been shifted to GMC Hospital for treatment.
