UDHAMPUR, Feb 7: Reacting to the newspaper reports that Trucks coming from PoK at Uri Border in Kashmir under cross LoC trade have been confiscated on this side of border due to the presence of packets of heroine in the boxes of Kenu coming from PoK, Y V Sharma president Jammu Kashmir Joint Chamber Of Commerce & Industry, has condemned the people involved in this practice and warned this will not only vitiate the atmosphere between the two countries but can also spell a doom for the future of LoC trade.
In a statement, Mr Sharma reiterated that LoC trade was initiated mainly for building CBMs and for bringing the two countries together through trade so that the ground can be prepared for resolving the controversial issues between two countries cordially. He appealed to the authorities on the both side of the borders to maintain strict vigil to check such activities in future. He also appealed to the traders on the both sides not to harm the trade in any way.
At the same time, Mr Sharma opined that all the traders involved in LoC trade are not guilty. There are black sheep who are bent upon destroying the interest of the traders on both sides of the border and the authorities should not harm the interests of the honest traders whose consignment should be released after thorough and complete checking in the shortest possible time, he added.
