UDHAMPUR, Feb 24: A one-day orientation workshop on Tobacco Control programme was organized by J&K Health & Development Association J&K in collaboration with District Administration with the full support of International Union from TB and Lung Diseases at DC Conference Hall.
The Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal chaired the workshop.
Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, Chief Education Officer, Deputy Superintendent DH Udhampur, Assistant Controller Drug, President & Gen Secy. Mukti Youth Club, Udhampur and others officers attended the workshop.
While speaking on the occasion, the DC directed concerned officers to enforce the law particularly Section 4, ban on smoking in public places and Section 6(b) sale of tobacco products within 100 yards of educational institutions in their respective areas. She said that coordination among implementing agencies will make some positive changes to abolish the ill effects of this menace from the society.
She stressed for organizing such more programmes in near future with the maximum participation of youth for creating awareness regarding the hazards of use of tobacco products.
