Workshop on ‘Investigation of NDPS Cases’ organized for police officers

SRINAGAR, Feb 21: With an aim to improve investigation skills in NDPS cases and other related acts, Bandipora Police in collaboration with Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) J&K today organized a one-day workshop at conference hall of DPL Bandipora.
On the occasion, Deputy SP Headquarters Bandipora Mohammad Idrees, SDPO Sumbal, Deputy SP DAR Bandipora, Deputy SP PC Hajin, Bandipora, All SHOs/Incharge police posts of district Bandipora and other investigation officers, besides a team from ANTF J&K attended the workshop.
The workshop was organized to aware the investigating officers with latest techniques and standard practices to expedite the investigation and improve and ensure convictions in NDPS cases.
While addressing the participants, officers from ANTF stressed upon the investigating officers that quality disposal of crime is more important than quantitative disposal. They also briefed the participants about drug abuse, its sources both natural as well as synthetic and made aware the participants about the identification of NDPS substances. They also impressed upon the officers that progress of various heinous crime cases must be disposed-off properly and on timely basis and adoption of various latest techniques and standard practices would bring improvement in investigation of the cases.
Deputy SP Headquarters Bandipora while addressing the participants advised them for close supervision of concerned supervisory officers in NDPS cases in order to improve the conviction rate and disposal of cases.
Presentations were also given by officers of ANTF on various aspects of NDPS Act and related laws and procedures.
