SAMBA, Aug 18: Demanding release of pending wages, the workers of Bharat Box Factory held a demonstration at SIDCO Chowk Samba today.
The protestors with banners in their hands were demanding the release of pending wages by the company. The demonstration was led by Romit Sharma. The workers have not been paid wages for last 18 months and they held the president and vice president responsible for the same.
The protestors warned to take extreme step in case the management of the factory failed to pay their wages upto the end of this month.
They also held the administration responsible for its failure in pursuing the factory management to release the wages of the workers who are at the verge of starvation.
They said the non payment of wages to the workers tantamount to human rights violation. They said what can be more callousness of the authorities towards the working class that they have maintained a stoic silence on the issue.
They also alleged that the Labour Department has also failed to take the cognizance of the issue till date and had it taken the appropriate steps the workers would have not been deprived of their earned wages by the factory management.
The protestors also alleged a nexus between management and the administration and said that in case the wages were not released by the stipulated time they will come on streets along with their families.
