JAMMU, May 17: A 45-year-old woman died after she was crushed under a speeding bus at Bakshi Nagar area here today.
The deceased has been identified as Sunita Devi (45), a resident of Rajiv Basti, Resham Ghar Colony Jammu.
Officials said the accident happened when the woman was returning home from GMC Canteen area. According to them, she died on the spot.
While the body of the deceased woman has been shifted to the mortuary of the Government Medical College Jammu for conducting the post-mortem examination, a case under the relevant sections of the law has also been registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and further investigation taken up.
Police have also seized the vehicle involved in the accident besides arresting the driver.
