JAMMU, Oct 4: An impressive programme was organized by Wildlife Protection Department at Nandni Wildlife Sanctuary, Sidha in connection with Wildlife Week celebration.
The programme included village meet, debate and painting competition in which students from various schools, local residents, Sarpanchs and Panchs of various blocks, school teachers and Wildlife officials participated.
Wildlife Warden Sayed Ahmed while interacting with the villagers and school children emphasized upon them to help in maintenance of ecological balance and sustainable use of natural resources.
Wildlife Warden Zoo Jammu, Shazad Choudhary emphasized the need of making judicious use of natural heritage for posterity.
Range Officer Wildlife Range Nandni, Noor Mohammad presented vote of thanks while Wildlife Warden Zoo Jammu, Range Officer Zoo Jammu and Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Wildlife Department Jammu were the judges for the debate and painting competitions.
In debate, Riya Sharma of Government Girls Middle School Jajjhar Kotli got first prize, Suksham of Holy Drmity Convent School Dhansal bagged second and Yunis of Government Middle School Domail claimed 3rd prize. Mannkaran and Umesh both from Shining Star High School Jajjhar Kotli bagged the consolation prize.
In Painting competition, Divyanshi, Tanib Sharma and Manavi Sharma from Holy Drmity Convent School Dhansal bagged first, second and third positions respectively. Mannkaran of Shining Star High School Jajjhar Kotli and Madhurya Sharma of Holy Drmity Convent School Dhansal won consolation prizes.
