KATHUA, Oct 4: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) and J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) have strongly condemned use of force and lathicharge on agitating employees.
In their separate statements issued here, today the two organizations urged the Government to accept the long pending demands of the employees including full implementation of 6th Pay Commission recommendations.
The JKTF which met at Kathua today while discussing the prevailing situation in the State caused due toe employees strike since October 1 has sought the personnel intervention of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in the matter to get the agreement implemented signed between the High Power Committee and JCC representatives on July 8 last year.
The meeting said it was agreed to implement the agreement by September 30, 2012 but it is a matter of surprise and disappointment that even after a period of 15 months nothing has been done.
It said the use of force and invocation of ESMO will not be any solution to the problems and such a behavior by Government with its own employees will aggravate the situation further.
It demanded immediate release of employees and revocation of ESMO. S Puran Singh, S Surjit Singh , Amar Nath Thakur, Mohammed Sadiq, Subash Sharma, Bharat Bushan and Balbir Singh attended the meeting.
President of USTA Hari Singh while condemning the strong arms tactics of the Government on its employees to crush their agitation ruthlessly, said instead of implementing the agreement the Government has chosen the path of confrontation with working class.
He demanded immediate release of arrested employees and acceptance of all genuine demands of the agitating employees.
