RAJOURI, Oct 4: The district police authorities have attached a ‘Thana Munshi’ and two others for hiding facts and scuttling investigations into the alleged murder of a young housewife in Budhal area of Rajouri district.
Police sources said that Thana Munshi Shabir Malik, Head Constables Mohd Zakir and Rafiq Khan have been attached to District Police Lines, Rajouri while the names of two SPOs have been recommended for disengagement from the service after the inquiry ordered by the SP Rajouri established their involvement in hiding facts and scuttling fair investigations on account of monetary benefit from the accused party.
The SPOs, who are being disengaged are- Shabir and Nawab posted at Budhal Police Station. These cops had allegedly distorted the facts in connection with the alleged murder of young housewife Ruksana Kouser , wife of Abdul Shakoor, resident of Falni in Budhal on August 30. The facts came to light only after parents of the deceased approached District police and SP Mubassar Lattifi constituted a committee led by a DySP and sought permission from the District Magistrate to exhumed the body and started fresh investigations to after conducting postmortem. It was found that woman had been tortured and done to death. The police later arrested husband of the deceased and two other close relatives. A case under Section 174 CrPC was registered by police and investigation started. It is now being converted into murder case.
