Welfare of differently able(d) people

A proper monitoring and follow up of measures by the states and the Union Territories in respect of the welfare of the differently abled people in view of the COVID -19 pandemic is being made by the Central Advisory Board on Disability . It is a right decision to have a data of the affirmative actions taken for them from the states and the UTs for which appointment of Commissioners and constituting of State Advisory Boards have been stressed upon by the Central Advisory Board.
Steps like creating an on-line mechanism for maintaining data related to vacancies reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities are to be taken which was to be done in a transparent manner. It has also been directed that special recruitment drives be made to fill up backlog vacancies. To think of and take care of this segment of our society in respect of issues related to their employment which although statutorily being there on reserved basis, needed to be implemented in the right earnest. This becomes all the more imperative in a scenario where Corona pandemic is causing various constraints. There should be its least effect on this vulnerable section of our society so far as their employment, early intervention and rehabilitation of children , their protection and care like issues, were concerned.
Care must be taken especially during the currency of the pandemic that no let up set in so far as implementing schemes and measures for the differently abled persons like Accessible India Campaign on mission mode and the like , were concerned. That, requisite reports on periodic basis are sought to be made available by the states to the Central Government would make the process more smooth.
