JAMMU, Jan 12: Jaikara: Profie for Progeny, a documentary on Amarnath Vaishnavi a veteran KP leader and RSS ideologue is all set to be released soon. This was stated by its Producer, Prof Virender Rawal while conducting the premier on the documentary at Press Club here this afternoon in presence of galaxy of leaders, social activists and prominent citizens.
The premier was conducted by Vyeth a social -cultural organisation.
The documentary is on the life of veteran KP leader right from his birth in 1925 to his Nirvana in July 2012 and it depicts his role as a RSS ideologue and a staunch nationalist in J&K which faced the challenge from anti national forces right from 1947 after the accession of the State with Indian Union.
The documentary highlights the role of Mr Vaishnavi as a Praja Parishad leader in 1953 when he joined the movement on the call of the then Jana Sangh president Dr Shama Prasad Mookerjee and was also jailed in Pathankote for breaking the permit system.
It also highlights Vaishnavi’s role in providing relief to the victims of Pak raiders’ attack in 1947 in Kashmir, in leading the community in 1967 agitation and other agitations from time to time besides championing the cause of Ladkhis.
The documentary, reveals that how Mr Vaishnavi served the community as well as the nation till his last breath. Whether it was settling his community members in camps after their mass exodus in 1989-90 and getting their day to day problems redressed or seeking admissions for their wards in professional colleges in other parts of the country, Mr Vaishanvi played a leading role.
The function was attended by Vijay Bakaya, MLC and chief patron of Vyeth, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president PK, H L Chatta, president ASKPC, A K Raina vice president AIKS, Virender Riana, M L Saroop, B L Saraf, retired Session Judge, Prof G K Muju, Ramesh Hangloo, Veer Saraf, Sheela Handoo, Dr M L Anand Vaishnavi and others.
Prof Rawal on the occasion declared that Vyeth will also make documentary on Lal Ded a mystic Hindu saint of medieval Kashmir and on the contribution of prominent women of the State.
Vijay Bakaya, Dr Jitendra Singh and Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo on the occasion said that the film is a big tribute to the memory of Mr Vaishnavi who devoted his whole life for the cause of the society. His nationalism and zeal for the social cause was an inspiration for the generations to come, they added.
Dr Vaishnavi announced contribution of Rs 50,000 to Corpus Fund of Vyeth on the occasion while Mr M L Sarop announced Rs 10,000.
