DODA, Nov 19: A number of public rallies were addressed by the R&B Minister and Congress candidate Abdul Majid Wani at village Roat, Rachho, Barri, Dugga, Goha and Sewat in block Marmat of Doda constituency.
Stating that people of Jammu and Kashmir can never forget tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad as its Chief Minister, Mr Wani claimed that those two and half years have been recorded as a golden period in history of the State and, this time people of J&K will vote whole-heartedly for Congress party so as to see Mr Azad as CM once again.
He said that Congress-led Government alone has proved credentials of being pro-development as well as pro people during a short span of time between the year 2006 and 2008. For better future of the youth and to continue with the journey towards prosperity, development and fast-track infrastructure building, people should vote for Congress to lead the State Government this time, he stressed.
Majid Wani said during those two and half years of Congress party led rule, unprecedented developmental activities were started in the State with focus on building of roads, bridges, tourism development authorities, inter-regional highways, schools, colleges, off-site university campuses, health infrastructure, etc. Double shift working concept was also introduced and implemented during those two and half years while a number of new districts were created and stage was also set up by Ghulam Nabi Azad for creation of new administrative units, he added.
Majid Wani said that he has also worked day and night to ensure fast development of this constituency. “A revolution has been brought in Doda constituency with opening of a medical college, trauma hospital, new district hospital building, sports stadium, creation of new administrative units, degree colleges, higher secondary schools and hundreds of new primary schools during my tenure,” he said and added that his next mission shall be to provide ample employment opportunities to youth of Doda constituency; for which plans have already been formulated.
Among others, who also addressed these public rallies, included Kartar Singh Chowhan Sarpanch, Rumal Singh, Suresh Jogi, Yashpal Singh, Rajesh Kumar Bhagat and Lehar Singh.
