JAMMU, Dec 17: As an initiative under its holistic Health, Safety and Well-Being (HSW) policy aimed at ensuring the well-being of its employees, Vodafone India organized a lecture on road safety for its J&K circle employees and customers at Vodafone Circle Office, J&K.
The lecture was delivered by Bhumesh Sharma, a renowned expert in road safety. During the one hour long session, the audience listened with rapt attention as Sharma, who has done commendable work in promoting road safety, stressed on the need for safe driving with apt examples. It acted as a reorientation session for Vodafone employees, who have always been particular about following safety rules and practices as part of Vodafone’s HSW policy.
Speaking on the occasion, Pushpinder Singh Gujral, Business Head, Punjab, HP and J&K, Vodafone India, said, “As a people-centric organization, we at Vodafone undertake initiatives which ensure holistic growth and development of our employees. At Vodafone, we have rules, regulations and policies which help ensure that our employees and associates are as road-safe as possible at all times.”
Sharma shared his insight on road safety with the audience. Vodafone employees actively responded with pointed questions and sharp observations. They also told Sharma how religiously they follow the HSW guidelines.
“It is important to understand the importance of road safety and traffic rules for your own sake and the sake of your fellow commuters. If everyone starts following traffic rules and makes a conscious effort to make the roads safer, it can help prevent several accidents and loss of life and property. A conscious effort in this direction can help make our roads much safer in the near future,” said Sharma.
