VKS delegation calls on RRC, discusses demands

JAMMU, Jan 14: A delegation of Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj (VKS) led by Pintoo Ji met Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Ashok Pandita and put forth the various demands before him for immediate redressal.
The charter of demands and burning issues at Jagti township Nagrota which were highlighted included conducting of Ayushman Bharat camp for left over people especially old aged and those suffering from chronic disease as large number of the people are not financially sound to manage and arrange their treatment and medical requirements.
The delegation also demanded repair /renovation of drains which are in bad condition, instructions to the contractor who have been allotted the work of macadamization of lanes and by lane roads to start work and execute the job immediately, construction of Police Post, construction of toilet block near play ground under Swatch Bharat Abiyaan, construction of mortuary room and dumping store for waste material in the back side of the hospital, implementation of various flagship programs launched by the Government, constitution of welfare committees for the proper care of the community halls, utilization of money deposited by the people for booking of community halls and the camp commandants /zonal officers under the supervision of Welfares Committees be authorized to utilize the same money for the developments and repair /renovation of these community halls whenever need arises.
Pitching and concreting of the footpath along the main road to keep it neat and clean and to make it a walking path, engaging of some employees for the maintenance and beautification of the parks, replacing of defunct and fused street lights, all concern departments may be asked to take cognizance of the wandering animals causing accidents and inconvenience to the camp dwellers. Street dogs have also created havoc in the township especially for the children.
