Visit the grassroots to ensure implementation of plans: Anurag to officers

HAMIRPUR (HP), Feb 21:
Union Minister of state(MOS)for finance and corporate affairs, Anurag Thakur has asked the district officers to venture out in fields and work for the implementation of the government plans and schemes.
He said this while chairing a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) last evening. Kamlesh Kumari MLA, ADC, Jitendra Shanjta, Gokulchandran Karthikeyan were also present at the meeting.
Thakur said that the most important task of giving concrete shape to the policies and welfare schemes of the government rests on the shoulders of departmental officers and they should come forward with their innovative ideas.
He said that for this to happen, one needs to be among the people discussing matters with them, rather than staying confined in their offices.
He said that if the administration could do so much to defeat the COVID-19 why could it not replicate such efforts in other fields also.
The minister asked the officials to play an active role in building a new India and building a self-sufficient Himachal.
He said that Hamirpur district has been on the top of the literacy list and now it is exploring possibilities of transforming into a knowledge based economy.
He said that the central government was committed to the welfare of all sections of society, following the policy of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vishwas’ under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
He said that the timely implementation of centrally sponsored schemes was being ensured in Hamirpur parliamentary constituency including the whole country and cautioned that shirkers should understand that they would be dealt with firmly.
The minister said that 65,077 eligible persons have been registered under Ayushman Bharat Yojana where free treatment facility was being provided to eligible families up to Rs five lakhs.
Under the Prime Minister’s Safe Motherhood Campaign ha said facilities have been provided to 5,258 districts in the year 2019-20 and 2,171 pregnant women in the year 2020-21 so far.
Under the special nutrition program in the district, till the month of December last year, 22,532 children up to the age of six years and 5,864 pregnant and lactating women were benefited.
He urged the health department officers to ensure that the district was made free from TB, Drugs and AIDS and for this there was a need for the awareness campaign and that should be done on a regular basis.
Under Jal Jeevan Mission, every household has been targeted to tap water from the district till March 2022. So far this facility has been provided to about 82 percent of the households in the district.
He urged all Block Development Officers to complete the work allocated under the MP Development Fund by the month of June this year. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, out of 98 eligible beneficiaries in the Municipal Council Hamirpur area, 67 have been sanctioned letters, out of which construction of 40 houses has been completed.
The meeting also reviewed the central schemes being implemented under other departments including agriculture, horticulture, rural development, social welfare, industry, food and civil supplies. (UNI)
