Villagers highlight grievances

AKHNOOR, Oct 14: A meeting of Panchayat Gangyal of Block Akhnoor was held here, which was attended by NC leader Pandit Ram Saroop Sharma as chief guest. During the meeting, the participants seized the NC leader of various outstanding grievances of the villagers.
About 150 villagers attended the meet, which was organised by Sarpanch Raj Kumar.
The NC leader was told that a link road connecting the Village to Jammu-Poonch National Highway, the work on which was started in 1972, was till date not completed. About 10 times concrete material and mud was spread but not even a single time, the blacktopping was done, the speakers alleged.
The villagers told Mr Ram Saroop that the Government High School of the Village has a strength of 150 students but to their agony there are only six teachers and among them only four teachers are present for teaching purpose.
It was also highlighted in the meeting that the village dispensary sans doctors to care the suffering poor villagers.
