RAJOURI, May 28: A middle aged villager was drowned in a Nallah in Manjakote area while and elderly man attempted suicide by hanging in Rajouri town today.
A police spokesman said that 47-year-old, Mukhtar Ahmed, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of village Chamba, had gone to take bath to nearby Nallah in Manjakote area. He slipped into deep water and drowned. Later, his body was fished out by villagers and policemen. A case has been registered in this connection.
Meanwhile, 60-year-old Parveen Kumar, son of Gopal Dass, resident of Ward No. 7, Rajouri, allegedly hanged himself in his room at home here this morning. The family members noticed and rushed for the rescue. He was then shifted to hospital. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
