JAMMU, Nov 29: Vikramaditya Singh, former Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and scion of the erstwhile Dogra Royal Family of Jammu & Kashmir has been formally appointed as a patron-member of the Governing Council (GC) of Mayo College, Ajmer, Rajasthan.
The erstwhile Dogra Royal Family over generations has upheld a legacy of contributing to the growth in education, heritage, socio-cultural development and public service of the nation.
Vikramaditya Singh after attending the Board meeting of the General Council, said, “It is an honour and privilege to serve and be associated with one of the most renowned and prestigious educational institutions in the country.”
He further said, “It is a matter of great pride to continue my family legacy and association with Mayo College which began in the late 19th century when Kashmir House was setup at the campus for Maharaja Hari Singh who completed his early education at Mayo College in 1908.”
The Mayo College General Council is led by Gaj Singh of Jodhpur, president MCGC and Brijraj Singh of Kishangarh, vice-president MCGC.
