Vijaypur police arrests 2 drug peddlers, recovers heroin

SAMBA, July 6: Continuing its onslaught against the drug smugglers launched by District Police Samba, two drug peddlers were arrested and 5.40 gm heroin (Chitta) was recovered from them by Vijaypur Police.
According a handout issued by District Police Samba, a police party of Police Station Vijaypur headed by Inspector Suraj Pathania, SHO Vijaypur in coordination with DSB Samba, under the close supervision of  Baljeet Singh, SDPO Vijaypur during surprise naka at Thalori, Vijaypur, intercepted two persons namely Mohd. Liaqat, S/o Mohd. Yousuf, R/o Rakh Brotian, Vijaypur and Fayaz Ahmed S/o Nizamudin R/o district Katiyar, Bihar A/P Vijaypur, on suspicious ground.
During frisking, 5.40 gm heroin (chitta) was recovered from their possession. Both the drug peddlers were arrested and contraband item was also seized on the spot. In this regard a case FIR No. 92/2018 U/S 8/21/29 NDPS ACT has been registered in P/S Vijaypur and investigation started.
Meanwhile, SSP Samba, Anil Magotra who has issued the directives to all police stations to intensify drive against the drug peddlers and smugglers has warned the drug mafia and smugglers of strict action.
