SAMBA, July 27: The inhabitants of Vijaypur held a protest demonstration in front of Power Development Department (PDD) office at Vijaypur today against the power crisis in the area.
The protestors raised slogans against the Department for its failure in solving the problem of power crisis faced by the people of the area for months together. Later a delegation of protestors called on Executive Engineer, PDD Vijaypur, Narotam Kumar and informed him that for the last two months there has been continuous power cuts and fluctuations due to which their electric gadgets like coolers, refrigerators, TVs, fans etc have got damaged.
Municipal president, Deepak Kumar, councilor Nikki Mahajan and others who led the delegation said that due to heavy power cuts, the public has become very upset. They said electricity makes hide and seek and people are facing many hardships in this hot and humid Summer.
After hearing all these problems, Executive Engineer, Narottam Kumar told them that this problem has been created due to technical fault but soon this problem will be solved and the power supply will be made proper in the area.
