JAMMU, Sept 27: For the third consecutive term, Vijay Kumar has been elected as President of Jammu University Non-Gazetted Employees Union, elections of which were held today.
In a triangular contest , he defeated his nearest rival Vijay Bhat with a huge margin of 221 votes. Vijay Kumar secured 400 votes while his opponents Vijay Bhat and Shammi were polled only 179 and 13 votes, respectively.
For post of Vice-President, Ashok Kumar was declared elected. He secured 322 votes while his rivals Swarn Singh and Abdul Qayoom Malik were polled 119 and 113 votes, respectively.
Rakesh Kumar Giri secured 238 votes and was elected for the post of Joint Secretary while Balbir Singh was elected as Organizing Secretary and Surinder Singh as Publicity Secretary by securing 255 and 202 votes, respectively.
Dev Raj, Nageena, Ranbir Singh, Sahil Kumar, Tejinder Singh and Ravi Kumar were elected as Executive Members of the Union.
