J&K Grameen Bank Officers stage protest

JAMMU, Sept 27: At the call of apex Association-AIRRBEA, J&K Grameen Bank Officer Association here today observed a one day strike and staged protest demonstration in front of J&K Grameen Bank Head Office at Narwal in support of their demands.
The protest was led by Sushil Khajuria, president JKGBOA for demands like immediate formation of National Rural Bank of India totally delinked from existing sponsor banks.
Other demands were, manpower planning as per government of India approved policy (Mitra Committee) for better service to customers mostly in rural areas and adequate recruitment and promotion at par with sponsor banks.
More demands included full and proper implementation of 11 bipartite settlement, ensuring benefits of Minimum Wages Act and regularization of daily wagers, casual and contractual workers.
A memorandum of demands was submitted through Chairman J&K Grameen Bank to Secretary Finance. Rashpaul Choudhary, general secretary JKGBOA; Abhishek Gupta, assistant general secretary; Shiva Mahajan, vice president and Sachin Dev Singh, cash secretary also spoke on the occasion.
