JAMMU, Aug 21: The State Vigilance Organization has booked Tariq Mehmood Balwan, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Doda, for accumulating huge moveable and immovable assets quite disproportionate to his known legal sources of income.
After registration of a formal case, Vigilance also raided houses of the accused Public Servant at Jammu as well as Doda and seized some incriminating documents, FDRs and pass books related to the case.
The searches were going on when the reports last came in.
The case FIR number 28/2018, under section 5(1) (e), read with section 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006, was registered on the basis of an enquiry, which revealed that the accused has raised assets in the shape of moveable and immoveable properties at Doda and Jammu.
The accused official also possesses a duster car and has huge bank balances. The expenditure incurred by him in acquiring these assets is much more then the legitimate income earned by him from all sources during his service career.
After obtaining search warrant from the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Doda, teams were constituted and deputed to conduct house searches of the accused public servant at Doda and Jammu respectively.
