Cong to emerge as largest party in next elections: Mir

JAMMU, Aug 21: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief,  GA Mir has said that Congress will emerge as single largest party in the State in the next elections, as people are fed up from dual standards of other parties and double speak of their leaders.
Addressing a series of Assembly segment wise delegates meets at PCC headquarters here today, PCC chief said that Congress has never indulged in dual standards on its ideology and principles but unfortunately the leaders of other  parties change their stance with situations and try to throw dust in the eyes of people. They have no commitment to their ideology or principles and continue changing their friends and foes according to convenience. The people are wise enough and have identified those leaders and parties and would teach them a lesson in coming elections.
Referring to PDP  and BJP, he said that they proved to be worst opportunists and compromised everything for power. The people will reject them for their double standards and politics of deceit,  Mir added.
The PCC chief  said that top leaders of these two parties ( BJP & PDP) exploited the people on various emotional issues and exhorted the people in their respective constituencies to vote them to check mate other party from coming to power but when they joined hands, people felt cheated. The people should reject this kind of opportunist politics and bring Congress to power for equitable  development  and  treatment to all sections, regions and religions in the state and bridge the gap created amongst people by the communal, divisive and opportunist forces.
Describing the foot soldiers as backbone of Congress,  PCC chief asked them to work unitedly and gear up for the upcoming elections to ULB  and Panchayats.
Senior leaders Mula Ram, Raman Bhalla (Vice presidents PCC), Ravinder Sharma – chief spokesperson, Th Manmohan Singh- general secretary also spoke besides local leaders, Block presidents and prominent delegates of the party from respective constituencies.
PCC chief held meetings with representatives of Nowshera, Kathua, Chenani, Nagrota and Samba today. Prakash Sharma (Ex-MLA),    Th Balbir Sigh (MLC), Krishan C Bhagat- DCC president Udhampur, Th Hari Singh Chib- president DCC Jammu Rural, Pankaj Dogra, Shiv Dev Sigh (Ex-MLA), Subash Bhagat led the respective teams of delegates from their  constituencies.
