JAMMU, Jan 18: A vehicle lifter was arrested by police in Miran Sahib area here today.
A police spokesperson said that on January 16, 2024, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Miran Sahib by one Garu Ram son of Om Parkash of Langotian, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu, stating therein that his motorcycle (JK02CC-7687) was stolen from Langotian area.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 03/2024 under section 379 of the IPC was registered at Police Statioin Miran Sahib and investigation started.
During investigation, special teams of Police Station Miran Sahib rounded up a suspect later identified as Rohit Kumar of Chawala, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu at present Khour, Miran Sahib.
The suspect confessed to his involvement during sustained questioning, he said, adding that on his disclosure, the stolen motorcycle was recovered from his possession.
Further investigation into the case is underway, added the police spokesperson.
