Various organizations support today’s bandh call

JAMMU, Sept 19: Various organizations have extended full support to tomorrow’s Bharat bandh, the call of which has been given by BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) against the hike in diesel prices, reducing the subsidy of LPG and entry of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in India’s retail market.
The Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) has also decided to suspend work tomorrow in support of the bandh call given by various social and political organizations against the hike in prices affecting the common man. This was stated by a handout issued by BAJ here today.
All J&K Transporters Welfare Association (AJKTWA) in an emergency meeting here today which was attended by presidents and representatives of all passenger groups including buses, matadors, taxis and autos decided to observe a total bandh tomorrow against the increase in prices of diesel. The meeting said that no passenger vehicle will ply on road. The meeting urged the Government to increase the passenger fares within days failing which the transporters will go on indefinite strike.
Announcing its support to tomorrow’s bandh, national president of Hindustan Shiv Sena (HSS), Dimpy Kohli and its general secretary G I Singh appealed the people to observe a total bandh against the UPA Government for hiking the prices of diesel, withdrawing subsidy on LPG and allowing the entry of FDI in retail market of country which are totally anti people decisions.
Sangram Sena and Dogra Liberation Front (DLF) in a joint meeting here today under the chairmanship of B R Raina president of the Sena made a joint appeal to the people of Jammu to observe a total bandh tomorrow. The meeting was also attended by the DLF chief, Ram Paul and its other members.
Beopar Mandal Prem Nagar, New Plot in a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Sanjay Baru has decided to extend full support to tomorrow’s Bharat bandh call in protest against the entry of FDI in retail market. The meeting which was also addressed by Kapil Dev Sharma president of the Mandal termed the entry of FDI in retail market as a dangerous trend.
Ram Sena has also extended full support to tomorrow’s bandh call and its president Rajiv Mahajan has appealed the people to extend full cooperation in making tomorrow’s bandh call a success.
All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) has also extended full support to tomorrow’s bandh call. Its president Desh Rattan has appealed the people to observe a total bandh tomorrow against the anti people policies of UPA Government.
All India Consumers Forum held a meeting here today under the chairmanship of Co-convener M D Sharma to discuss the advantages of FDI. The meeting said it affect the livelihood of small retailers.
The meeting was chaired by M D Sharma its co-convener. K D Kapil Dev Convener of the Forum said to overcome the economic crisis being faced by UPA Government it has hiked the prices of diesel, petrol, removed subsidy of LPG and which will affect the common man and farmers. The meeting extended full support to tomorrow’s bandh and appealed the people to make it a success.
