JAMMU, Jan 2: Expressing great concern over the alleged lackadaisical and non-serious attitude of authorities towards just and genuine demands of teaching community, J&K United School Teachers Association has announced a massive protest on January 12 if no action is taken on their issues.
“It is highly deplorable that salary of large section of teaching community is inordinately delayed. In some cases wages of Masters have not been released for the month of Dec 2017, Jan-Feb 2018, more so salary of RReTS regularized during 2014-18 for the period of 22-25 months has not been released under reasons best known to the authorities concern,” said Hari Singh provincial general secretary of USTA, while addressing a press conference along with provincial president Rajeev Kumar and others.
Stressing that there was a dire need to rationalize the teaching staff in educational institutions on subject base needs, Hari Singh said that hundreds of teachers have been attached in Jammu city and district headquarters whereas the educational institutions in rural areas have been left at mercy of god. “More over nobody is listening to the grievances of persons working in far flung areas for years,” he said and expressed strong concern over not adjusting newly promoted lecturers for last 4 months.
USTA leaders also expressed anguish over the unwanted delay in the process of regularization of Lecturers, Head masters, ZEOs and Principals. “Moreover large number of posts of Head Masters, ZEOs and Principals are lying vacant due to inordinate delay in their DPC which is badly affecting education of school going children. Day to day issues of teaching community in offices of education dept are not re-addressed in time bound manner until the applicant visits the concern table repeatedly, said Hari Singh and appealed the Government, especially Advisor to Lt Governor to take serious view of the situation on the ground and address the long pending demands of teaching community.
